Pasang Emas has helped much in spreading pasang, but the game is still largely unknown. But it's there in the wild, a flicker here, a flicker there. Let us track down those flickers.
Categorization
The World of Abstract Game categorizes Pasang Emas as a game of King and Soldiers. Pasang Emas appears in an alphabetical list of games. The most interesting feature about the list is that it compactly summarizes each game using a set of icons.
La Diagonale Du Fou lists pasang as a variant of checker. This categorization is arguable. But that's not really important. Pasang enthusiasts should be glad that their favorite game is in the list and given a rather detailed entry complete with pictures of a beautifully made game set.
Image gallery
Geek Do has an entry on pasang. It has an image gallery which includes a photograph of a hand-made pasang board that was showcased at GiocaTorino 2009.
